Summary: paradoxical
Comment: I had a few issues when I used this book:
to me, the chapters didn't flow into each other in an efficient manner,
it felt too fragmented and "disconnected".
Also, many of the exercises are far more difficult than what the chapters let on: so you may understand a chapter really well but then when you try to do the exercises you get stuck because you are confronted with stuff that the chapter did present.
I also really did not like the presentation of this book, it is almost like a children's book, all that's missing are some pop-up figures for when you open the book.
That may sound harsh, but I felt more like a high school student working with this book than a 3rd year uni student. It lacks a professional feel to it.
In summary: this book was paradoxical to me, simple yet confusing at the same time.
It may come down to a question of taste, but I found both Blanchard's book Macroeconomics (5th Edition) and Dornbusch's book Macroeconomics to have a better "flow".
If you plan to continue with more advanced studies, like Romer's book Advanced Macroeconomics, I think that Dornbusch and Blanchard gives you a stronger preparation.
