While rock & roll flamboyance stretched back at least as far as Little Richard, Freddie Mercury continued to camp it up, taking little seriously and smirking at the music's growing pretensions while partaking in them no small bit. Many of the band's singles hold up extremely well, later tracks such as "Hammer to Fall" as much as prime-era numbers such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Killer Queen," and "You're My Best Friend." Customer Rating: Summary: Queen's Greatest Hits 1 & 2 Comment: The only drawback would be to say I cannot hear my copy which I take in the car. I have made a copy so that I don't lose my original. Don't know why.....and love listening to all the songs.
Customer Rating: Summary: To Freddie, His Royal Majesty and his accompanying band of dukes .... Comment: Surprisingly enough i was not a great Queen fan until i saw a South African production titled "Queen at the Opera" which re-created their hit songs in an operatic twist. It was an one act musical of 60 minutes that blew my mind - as it did the rest of the audience who, for the first time ever in my theatrical experience, rose as one at the end of the show to give the performers' a standing ovation. The show could have and should have toured Broadway and the West End (it excelled by far "We Will Rock You") and it would have run for years. From this unexpected initiation I became a fan of Freddie and the band for life and this Greatest Hits compilation does great justice to the phenomenal that is Queen. . .
