Watch your business start running itself as you move through each process with FlowCharter 7.0. This heavy-duty interactive diagramming utility (since upgraded to the Office 2000-compatible iGrafx Professional) is an inexpensive way to integrate your business procedures with databases, spreadsheets, and applications. You can also design Living FlowCharts to guide new employees or better visualize procedures before they are ever implemented. With a library of over 3,800 shapes and drag-and-drop functionality, you'll find creating and manipulating flow charts to be as easy as playing solitaire.

The package is compatible with Microsoft Office 97, and its interface is just as familiar and easy to use. Import and export data as needed and use the script editors to modify object behavior or to customize any step of your operation. The wizards make designing flow charts as simple as possible while still allowing great flexibility and control over the end product. Though it would be nice if there were lower-level wizards for routine maintenance and editing, they're not really necessary, and some inspired scripting should take care of your automation problems.

Of course, just like other 20th-century software packages, FlowCharter 7.0 has some compatibility problems with Office 2000--mostly importing data from newer versions. This will eventually be a problem for almost any user, but if you're still using Office 97, this version should work well for you until you decide to upgrade both. --Rob Lightner

Summary: I love this product!
Comment: I agree with Grady, this product is very easy to learn to use and has everything I've ever needed it for. Every time I try other similar products, I wind up coming back to Micrografx Flowcharter 7.0. I use it not only for making Flowcharts, but System Block Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Process Flows, and Organization Charts too. I run Flowcharter 7.0 under Microsoft Windows XP, and everything works just fine.

You can Select, Copy, and Paste your work from Flowcharter 7.0 into Microsoft OFFICE 2003's WORD and/or POWER POINT, which I use to illustrate points I'm writing about in my respective document(s). It works great!

I paid good money for this, but I am very happy with the Product, have used it for years, and would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: Best software for Flowcharts
Comment: I have been using FlowCharter 7 for years and have found it to be very easy to use. Flowcharts can be linked together and links can be created from process boxes to Word and Excel documents. In one project I even linked training video clips to process boxes. It also includes SPC charting, easy check lists and the ability to publish flowcharts to the web. This is the fastest and easiest software I have ever used for documenting and publishing processes. Also take a look at the newer version called iGrafx Professional and for business simulation iGrafx Process.
