Summary: sharp knives
Comment: I rarely eat meat, but am always chopping veggies. These knives have survived the "dish-washing" tests, and slicing tomatoes and onions (always a difficulty for me with their skins, and my arthritic hands) makes life a lot easier in the kitchen. I can get thin perfect slices, and the carnivores in the family find them great for meat. For me this was well worth the price!

Comment: Henckels is a great brand & has consistently great products. We own a set of Henckels Pro-S knives & LOVE them so, I was a little hesitant to order these since the "twin gourmet" series is the cheaper line in the brand however, I shouldn't have worried. These knives are terrific - very sharp & durable & a great buy for the price. We use them practically every day & they are still razor-sharp. Highly recommend!

Summary: Problems within 4 months: UPDATE (DEC 16, 2008):
Comment: Within four months the rivets had corroded in all of the knives but I decided to live with it. After 10 months one side of the handle separated from the rivets in one of the knives and it just fell apart. I am sending the whole set back to Henckels immediately.
UPDATE:
Henckels sent me a new set of knives just like the ones I had. I have had them more than 6 months and they have not corroded. If another one breaks, Henckels will replace it. Apparently I am unable to increase the number of stars so I'll just say here that I now give them 5 stars. These knives are great for steak. They are sharper than any steak knife I have ever used.
