Product Description
For preserving the flavor and aroma of ground coffee, this container replicates the vacuum-sealed package the coffee (or beans) comes in. After opening the package, simply pour the coffee into the container, place the pump on the lid's rubber stopper, and pump the air out of the container. When coffee is needed, pinch the stopper and remove the lid. Then reseal by pumping the air out again. The plastic container holds about 1/2 pound of ground coffee and stands 5 inches high (without the lid). While it's ideal for coffee, the container is perfect also for any food that loses freshness quickly when exposed to air, such as chocolate, crackers, and nuts. For cleaning, the food saver can be dismantled easily. --Fred Brack

    Summary: Not worth it! Doesn't hold the seal.
    Comment: Bought this for my coffee beans but it doesn't hold a seal even for a little bit. Not worth the purchase.

    Summary: Pricey & Loses the Seal
    Comment: I really wanted this to work but what I found is the vacuum is 50/50. I wipe down the inner rubber washer & the lip of the container & it's still hit or miss. Pricey for an iffy product; I'll search for better vacuum sealed container.

    Comment: I'm not sure what Amazon's problem is, but this is *NOT* the starter set. There is *NO* pump included. (If you go to the Vacu-vin web site, you'll see that there should be a pump).

    I've pointed this problem out to Amazon in the past and they are still selling the wrong item.

    Summary: HOW ABOUT THE REST OF THE POUND?
    Comment: Works great and you get dual use out of the pump you bought for saving wine. But the marketing and product development crew were sleeping when they sized this thing. The canister doen't even come close to holding a pound of unground coffee, the standard size in which most coffee is packaged.

    Comment: I am very pleased with the Vacu Vin Coffee Savers, my only regret is that they are not made in different sizes and larger containers. They have performed flawlessly.
