Customer Review(s)
Customer Rating: Summary: Not the PDA that is bad, but fear the Palm service Comment: I recently purchased a brand new T2 at auction (the owner had bought but it on advice of his boss, but he never used it). The box was still sealed, and the screen still had the original factory screen protector on it. It was obvious that it had never been used.
The T2 is a good unit, better quality display than my T1 that failed. However, Palm support, which has never been really great, has deteriorated further.
They have obviously outsourced their support, and the call center has hired people who cannot understand the questions even if you speak slowly and clearly. He spent most of the time trying to find some reason to not grant me tech support, doubtless hoping that I'd agree to pay $25 for help. I explained that I was calling about a new Palm that had never been used. The call center person would not help me, claiming it could not be new because it went out of production three years ago. If he really doubted me, he could have checked records on the serial number that I gave him, and there would have been no record on support since it was new. But instead he continued to insist that I had to spend $25 to get help.
When I argued with him on that point that the service should be provided for a new Palm regardless of when it was built he just hung up. I repeat, he just hung up.
This isn't my first bad experience with their support. I think Palm now has a strategy of trying to make the Tech Support a profit center instead of a cost center.
I'm stuck with Palm because all my data and applications are tied to its operating system. But I certainly cannot recommend it for anyone who has a choice to buy another product.
Customer Rating: Summary: I love it -- and so will you! Comment: This palm pilot is great for people on the go. You can put so much information and easy access!
I have had my address book filled to the brim and the calendar and all kinds of programs to include: Battle Ship, Chess, Tetres, and more games, documents that were 1028 pages long and more documentations. This little baby didn't evey bat and eye.
It just keeps on trucking and works brillantly!
