So when I ordered this one, I didn't think I'd feel much difference. My goodness was I ever wrong. Is is slightly heavier than the older ones I've had? Yes, but that translates to it being more sturdy and less flimsy. It peels with ease. Smooth and effortless. I honestly had no clue that peeling could be made so easy. This thing rocks. You will not regret buying it. Throw your old clunky rusty peelers out of the window. Oxo is here to stay!
On a side note, I ordered this early in the morning and chose 2 day shipping through Amazon Prime. But because the warehouse is probably close to my shipping location I was able to get it overnight. Amazon Prime, you are the absolute BEST!!!

Customer Rating: Summary: Nearly Perfect Comment: I have been wanting a vegetable peeler that would be able to handle peeling winter squash. This is the perfect peeler for that task. I was able to peel an entire butternut squash in a very few minutes yesterday. The peeler sliced through the skin as if it were butter. There was no hesitation in getting the job done.
My only complaint about the Oxo Good Grips i-Series Swivel Peeler is that it is heavy. That complaint is also what makes this the perfect peeler for the task that I assigned it. I cannot imagine using this peeler to peel carrots or potatoes. It is just too heavy for that.
