Summary: A Fun Toy for Kids
Comment: We purchased this for a two year old girl who has been fascinated by our electronic piano and knows how to press buttons to make different sounds (and turn up the volume!), so we thought she might enjoy her own keyboard. She does.
Two major advantages are that it plays only one note at a time and has no volume control - kids cannot bang several keys or turn up the volume.
A big surprise is that her 5 year old cousin found the booklet and began reading the notes (labeled by number in the booklet and on the keyboard). She was delighted that she could play "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" within a few minutes. She will get this gift for her birthday next month!
While the younger child loves the drum key, hearing the dozen sample tunes that are programmed in and playing the keys, the older one is actually learning tunes.
I recommend this as a very affordable way to introduce a precocious 2 year old to the keyboard, and definitely recommend it for 5-6 year olds. This is a cute item - and if it does break (it looks durable, but it's too new to predict) or the child loses interest, you haven't lost a lot of money. Who knows - you may have a little Mozart in the family.
