Summary: Timeless Classic
Comment: If you're a history guy like me then you'll totally value the beauty of the Betsy Ross American Flag which features the stars laid out in a circle. From what I've read, the design was not first seen until the 1790's. I ended up buying a straight up modern Old Glory as well, but really I prefer this one to the 50 stater. It's simpler and more dignified.
In my view it happens to be the most picturesque of our early flags and it honors my wall. Further, 2008 is an important year for our country. I think it is essential that those of us who recall the past with admiration and fondness express openly our devotion to this magnificent nation.
The one thing I'll share here is that this flag is not rugged enough (its polyester as opposed to nylon) for daily outdoor usage. If you want to get something to swing from the back porch then you're going to have to throw down about 40 bucks based on what I've seen. That may be worth it though as the pattern is immaculate and defines the word "gravitas."
