Summary: Made in China
Comment: How disappointing. I was searching for a sled company that hasn't outsourced their manufacturing. I thought I had found it. Unfortunately, many of Mountainboy's sleds are now made in China (the "Classic" is made in China). Ugh! The search goes on. This is probably a great sled, but...not acceptable if you care about A.) economic diversity in the U.S., B.) worker's benefits (did you enjoy a maternity leave?), C.) U.S. jobs, and D.) the environment (these companies all tell you how much they love and trust the Chinese manager of their overseas operations, BUT China - even by the Chinese government's own admission - has a GOD AWFUL environmental record). I just bought a down parka from Feathered Friends in Seattle - the only remaining U.S. company that still makes their down gear IN the U.S. Perhaps I am too late to get a U.S.-made sled as well (to be fair, Mountainboy still manufactures some models in the U.S.). I hope that U.S. consumers and companies rethink their shopping/manufacturing habits/policies. It matters.
