Summary: A very nice upgrade in features ...
Comment: Most people don't replace their home phones that often and thus when they do they're often shocked just how much the phones have changed since they last purchased their last set.
I had my last home phone for two years and was quickly becoming frustrated with it's bulkiness and the increasing amount of static regardless of the battery change.
I purchased this phone system after looking around in stores for close to a week comparing features and this is what I found that this phone has over everyone else:
1. Every handset is slim, lightweight and easy to use.
2. Every handset also has a wonderfully clear speakerphone that is simple to use and access.
3. Every handset has an intercom system allowing you to talk in between rooms.
4. A well-lit and clear dialing screen that doesn't strain the eye.
5. Any of the handsets can be turned off singularly, allowing someone to sleep in peace.
6. Volume controls that actually control the volume through a wide-range of decibels.
7. A copius amount of ringtones to choose from so you don't have to settle on something annoying or standard.
8. The base also doubles as a voice-recorder and message minder.
9. Remote access to the messages, of course.
10. Crystal clear sound and solid connections when talking.
I could go on about how great this phone is, but I think my point is well-made here. Other phones on the market offer some of these features but do not offer all of them. This is a great phone system that is simple to set-up and simple to use.

Customer Rating: Summary: FINALLY! A phone that has what I need!
Comment: I've been looking for a phone with 'audio message alerts' for at least two years! Phones have come, and gone in my home. Some had the audio message alert tone, but had terrible reception, others had good quality sound, but no message alert tone. I previously owned a Vtech 5.8 digital phone system, and it would cut me off when I went into my living room! So you can imagine that I was skeptical about ordering this brand again. Now, I'm so happy I did! It's the phone I've been searching for!
My phones have 3 handsets, and one base with an answering machine. The extra handsets have their own charging base, but don't require a phone jack. The handsets are slim, and each has their own speaker built in, as well as a choice of ringtones. One of the pluses is that you can pick up any handset while a person is on another handset, and be instantly part of the conversation. Many other multi-phone sets must use the 'transfer' feature to connect to other handsets, which I find to be a huge pain in the you-know-what! You can also call within the house using the intercom feature. I use this to call my husband in the garage. But believe me, there are many other useful features besides the ones I've mentioned!
The phone has a good range also. I live on an acre, and can walk almost to the end of my property without distortion.
I love this phone!
