Summary: Thank goodness for Ben and Claudia.
Comment: Though I also admire RDA and his ascerbic wit, the new 'crew' more than compensate this loss. In the military (and life), people move on, and we must change. Ben is different enough to not clash with 'replacement scepticism', but fits in with the other characters enough to make him the best replacement for OIC SG1.
In the end, it is the story, not the personalities that make great saga's. Maybe it is growing up with Dr Who, and the need to adjust every 3-5 years; but i say - bring more of the new SG1 in I love it. If you like RDA, there are 8 wonderful years on DVD.
Or visit Australia - our version of Scifi Channel just likes to regurgitate old episodes of shows that really should be on TV1. So it is Stargate or
Star Trek I'm afraid.
Ah to have a real Scifi channel!
Maybe in my next life i can be reborn in Canada and be finally 'with it'.
Customer Rating: Summary: Where's Jack??
Comment: It seems like I have been waiting for this movie forever. I am a fan of the original Stargate SG1, and I think that without RDA and the Jack O'Neill character the series went downhill. I was under the impression that Jack O'Neill is featured in the movie, so I thought I'd mosey on over to Amazon and pre-order the movie. When I dial it up, I see that Richard Dean Anderson is not even listed with the major stars--all I can say to myself is "what gives here???"
I guess I'm going to pre-order the movie and check further. I can always cancel my order. Right??
Anyway, call me disappointed on this one....
